Dave Grohl says he returned to his mom's house in Virginia "to regroup" after Kurt Cobain's devastating suicide.
Dave Grohl and his mom, Virginia Hanlon Grohl, appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert last night to promote her rock star moms book, From Cradle to Stage. Colbert asked if Cobain's death changed their relationship. Mrs. Grohl said, "It did," explaining that they "talked a lot" during that "dark, sad time." She said it's hard for her to express the feelings of that "particularly incredible time."
Dave said that whenever he felt overwhelmed he'd go back to his childhood bedroom and hang out with his mom and his elementary school friends.
