Tom Scholz, Rock & Roll Dad!
Tom Scholz will celebrate Father's Day onstage Sunday -- Boston has a show in the San Diego suburb of Chula Vista, California.
He recently shared some parenting advice with Parade magazine. Asked what parents should tell creative children, he said, "Set a good example: keep your day job. Encourage your kids to pursue their dreams, but more importantly, to pursue interests which are likely to lead them into a career that enables them to survive on their own. The likelihood of spectacular financial success in any creative field is very small; have a plan 'B.'"
Asked what the best Father’s Day gift he ever received was, he said, "Knowing my son was happy."
Tom's son Jeremy, like his dad, has an engineering degree from the revered Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Boston plays the Greek Theater in Los Angeles tomorrow (Friday).
