A three-minute sneak preview of Metallica's guest shot tonight (Tuesday) on the premiere of Apple Music's Carpool Karaoke: The Series is now posted on Apple Music and YouTube.

In it, guest host Billy Eichner -- in the first non-James Corden Carpool Karaoke ever -- plays a quiz game with the four band members.

Creedence Clearwater Revival will offer fans what amounts to a prequel of the band.

Due September 29th, The Golliwogs' Fight Fire showcases the third band formed by Tom and John Fogerty, Stu Cook and Doug Clifford. The compilation packs all of the group's singles and B-sides, plus several unreleased '60s recordings. The foursome first played together as The Blue Velvets, then evolved into The Visions -- one of whose singles was picked up by the San Francisco radio station where a pre-countdown king Casey Kasem was a DJ.

The Bay Area label Fantasy Records changed their name to The Golliwogs -- which may have suggested Jolly Old England during the British Invasion. But the word was used for a blackfaced children's book character that was popular in Britain and Australia -- and by the '60s reeked of incorrectness.

In 1967, with just one local San Francisco hit to their credit, they changed the name once more -- to Creedence Clearwater Revival. The fourth time proved to be the charm -- and their unique mix of swamp rock and psychedelic sounds made them stars.

Flea of Red Hot Chili Peppers has announced his annual benefit for the Silverlake Conservatory of Music.

It's set for September 9th and will feature the Chili Peppers, Randy Newman and Anderson Paak. This is the first year that the benefit will be held at the Conservatory, which opened a new space in Los Angeles this year.

Flea tells Rolling Stone, "From years and years of doing the fundraisers, we finally bought a building and we have a really beautiful, big space now. It has 12 private-lesson rooms, four classrooms, a big performance space, and we have about 800 kids that come through. Everyone that comes will be able to see the school, get a feel for what's going on and be a part of it."

Flea also has a message to politicians looking to slash funding for music education programs in public schools: "It's child abuse. It's just wrong."

U2 tweeted a picture of Bono and The Edge recording while on vacation. Both have homes in the South of France, where they traditionally spend time in the summer.

Yes and Asia keyboardist Geoff Downes is featured in Motor Trend magazine talking about his Porsche Boxster S and Porsche Cayenne -- both of which are white.

Metallica's North American tour-closing show in Edmonton, Alberta on Wednesday night will stream live at Webcast.LiveMetallica.com and on the band's YouTube channel. The show is set to begin at 10:45 p.m. ET.
