I moderated my diet a few years ago and lost quite a bit of weight. But soon I was back to grabbing whatever fast food joint was closest to the radio station. Last Christmas I was at the in-laws house, and they had a new digital scale. I stepped up thinking I weighed 180-185 at most.
If you've met me in person, you know I'm not the tallest tree in the tree lot.
Drinking a big soda every morning, or having a burger everyday for lunch just wasn't going to cut it anymore.
So on July 31st I said no more sodas, no more sugar, no more bread. And I started walking with my wife. Every morning. Two miles before work. Twelve miles on the weekends. At least 10,000 steps a day. And I'm happy to say it's paying off. I've lost thirty pounds since July.
I don't miss sodas. I don't miss fast food. I can eat burgers, just not the bun.
And water! I love water now. I go through at least three to four bottles of water a day. It used to be McDonald's cokes for me. I haven't had one since July.
And the food I CAN eat? I can eat as much of it as I want.
But yesterday I cheated a little. We were at a birthday party and I had a slice of cake. Ya gotta have cake at a birthday party.
