The 42nd annual NSRA Western Street Rod Nationals are here in Bakersfield again this weekend! The Kern County Fairgrounds is packed with thousands of street rods and custom cars and trucks.
I love this event. It was always my dream to own a 1940 Ford coupe. Kinda like this one here...
It's for sale! The dude only wants $70,000 for it. But between you and me, if I had the dough, I'd be driving this beauty right now! By the way, a 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe cost $700 in 1940.
But if you're a hot rod nut like me, this event is a great way to spend the weekend. Every owner is more than happy to talk about their cars. And if you're looking for a hard to find part for your hot rod, chances are you'll find it at the Nationals.
This is the 32nd year that the NSRA has chosen Bakersfield as host city for the Nationals. More than any other city on the west coast. And people travel from all over the country to be a part of it.
The Western Street Rod Nationals are going on until 8pm tonight, 8am to 8pm tomorrow, and 8am to 5pm on Sunday. And you can get your tickets at the gate.
Who knows? you may bump into me out there tomorrow.
