Music From Eddie Vedder And REM In New Documentary

Eddie Vedder, R.E.M., Mudhoney, The Yeah, Yeah Yeahs and Lord Huron supply music for a documentary film about the quest of the son of a noted Seattle mountain climber to scale a Yukon peak that had eluded his father.

Return to Mount Kennedy debuted at the Telluride Mountainfilm festival last month had its second screening last weekend in Seattle -- where Bob Whittaker's father, Jim, a close friend of Robert F. Kennedy and the first American to climb Mount Everest, lived. Right now, it's scheduled to be shown twice more in Seattle this coming weekend and at the Woods Hole Film Festival in Cape Cod in late July.

Vedder, who supplied unreleased instrumental music for the soundtrack, makes a few silent cameos in the movie's trailer, which is posted on Vimeo.
