SPRINGSTEEN: E Street Is Open, But Not With the Boss

While Steve Van Zandt is on tour in Europe with his Disciples of Soul, one fan in Italy recently tweeted the E Street Band guitarist to say, "It's time to bring back to Italy the E Street Band. We need some BOSS TIME."

This didn't go over to well with Steven, who responded, "No it’s not. The E Street Band will be back at the right time. Right now it’s time for E Street Nation to support the Disciples of Soul... And to support Nils [Lofgren]. And Jake [Clemons]. And Garry [Tallent] . And Max [Weinberg]. That’s where E Street Nation belongs now."

Nils, who's working on a new album, was appreciative of Van Zandt's comment and tweeted, "Please support all of us while we our doing our own thing. Jake Clemons is touring. Mighty Max is touring, I’m hitting the East Coast in September. Onward."

No word on whether Bruce Springsteen plans to reconvene the E Street Band for a special one-off show or two this year, but meanwhile, he's devoting his time to his Springsteen on Broadway run, which is scheduled through December 15th.

And Bruce has a solo album in the can, so he could end up following up his Broadway run with more solo shows.
