John Lennon's Murderer Denied Parole Again. Good!

HOORAY!!! John Lennon's killer has been denied parole for a tenth time.

Mark David Chapman was informed on Thursday that he would not be released after appearing in front of the New York parole board on Wednesday. The board said that Chapman's releases would be "incompatible with the welfare and safety of society.” The 63-year-old will be eligible again in two years.

The New York Daily News reports that Yoko Ono again sent the board a letter asking that parole be denied not only for fear for her safety and that of Julian and Sean Lennon, but also for Chapman himself. Ono believes Chapman could be in danger from Beatles fans avenging the December 8th, 1980 shooting.

The parole panel agreed with Ono, stating that “someone may attempt or succeed in harming you out of anger and or revenge, or for the same reason that you did John Lennon, to assume notoriety.”
