A David Bowie-themed cocktail bar is set to open in London on September 20th.
Ziggy's features drinks inspired by The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars. "Tigers on Vaseline" takes its name from the lyrics to "Hang on to Yourself," and is described as "a modern twist on the piña colada." And "Darkness and Disgrace" is an espresso martini with a bit of rum -- named for a line from "Lady Stardust." The joint will also have a Bowie-only jukebox.
Ziggy's is at The Hotel Café Royal, which has historical significance when it comes to Ziggy Stardust. On July 3rd, 1973 Bowie threw a party there to mark the retirement of his alter-ego. It was attended by Lou Reed, Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney and Barbra Streisand.
