Metallica Donate Big To Help Wildfire Victims

When wildfires devastated the wine country near Metallica's home base of San Francisco last November, the band performed at a benefit to raise money for the victims. Now, a year later, they're helping out again.

The group is donating $100,000 to help fire relief efforts in both Northern and Southern California. Their All Within My Hands foundation is giving $50,000 to the North Valley Community Foundation (which deals with the Camp Fire up north) and $50,000 to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation.

A statement from All Within My Hands explains that "both agencies provide service to victims at evacuation centers and other much needed relief." Metallica encourages people to "support those in need and our first responders in any way you can by donating money, non-perishable food, clothing and other supplies, or by giving your time volunteering or providing temporary housing. Every little bit helps."
