Queen & Freddie Are Axl's Favorites

Axl Rose recently sat down for a rare interview with Atlas By Etihad about Guns N' Roses show this past Sunday in Abu Dhabi.

Asked who he thinks is the greatest frontman of all-time, he said, "It's easy — Queen is the greatest band and Freddie [Mercury] is the greatest frontman of all-time. The band are the greatest because they embraced so many different styles."

In 1992, Axl was part of the Freddie Mercury tribute concert in London, singing on "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "We Will Rock You."

Asked about GnR and their energetic shows, Axl said, "We all want to do the best we can for the fans — they come wanting a big performance and that is what we want to give them. We all push each other to go further in terms of our performance and commitment. It doesn't matter how many performances you do, every crowd is different and you feed off that."

Unfortunately Axl couldn't give it his all Sunday as the show had to be cut short after he took sick.
