The Boss Heading Back To E Street

There won't be much downtime for Bruce Springsteen once his one-man show, Springsteen on Broadway, finally ends in two weeks. He's been doing five shows a week for 14 months now.

Speaking to The Sunday Times, he says he has a tour in the works with E Street Band, along with a new album. "For lack of a better word, it’s a singer-songwriter album — more of a solo record.” While he did not say when he'll hit the road with the band, Steve Van Zandt tweets, "He most likely meant 2020. I will inquire to see if there can be an official statement to clear up these rumors [that it may be next year]."

The 69-year old says, "I’m suited for the long haul. I’m interested in what I might accomplish over a lifetime of music-making. I would like to have a 70-year-old Elvis reinventing his talents and where Jimi Hendrix might’ve next taken the electric guitar.”

The curtain comes down on Springsteen on Broadway on December 15th.
