REO Speedwagon Rolls With The Goldbergs

REO Speedwagon's "Time for Me to Fly" was featured last week on the ABC sitcom The Goldbergs.

Recently singer Kevin Cronin revealed the odd way he first met the show's Jeff Garlin.

On the band's website Kevin write, "So, in 1981, our Hi Infidelity tour stopped in Miami. I wanted to hear our special guest Survivor so I put on a baseball cap and snuck up the nose bleed section of the arena. I was sitting there watching the show when a security guard approached me and we struck up a conversation. Turns out that security guard was a young Jeff Garlin.

"I met Jeff on an airplane a few years ago and he recounted the story of our encounter that night in Miami. He said it meant a lot to him at the time, and he never forgot."

It wasn't the first time the show used an REO song. A previous episode featured Garlin's character singing "Can't Fight This Feeling."
