Phil Collen of Def Leppard signed over 300 autographs at the Jackson Guitars booth at NAMM on Saturday, according to the Orange County Register, who asked him about the band going into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Said Collen: “In recent years they started letting fans vote on a band they wanted to see get in, and we got more votes than any band before had. We really do owe it all to them.”
Robby Krieger and his band performed a mini-set at Gibson Guitars on Saturday at NAMM. He performed his new single, “Slide Home,” followed by The Doors songs “Break on Through (to the Other Side),” “Moonlight Drive,” (a snippet of) “Wild Child” and “Light My Fire,” which included instrumental versions of “Eleanor Rigby” and “My Favorite Things.” The late Gregg Allman’s daughter Brooklyn Allman also performed in the same room.
