Dave Mustaine Cancels Comi-Con Appearance

Dave Mustaine has canceled his appearance at Comic-Con in San Diego this weekend. A bummer for Megadeath fans, but understandable due to his current health concerns.

Mustaine was scheduled to do a signing Sunday for Death by Design, the graphic novel inspired by the band's songs, at the Heavy Metal magazine booth. The band issued a statement saying the appearance was canceled "by doctor's orders" as Mustaine undergoes treatment for throat cancer.

Fans who bought the deluxe edition of Death by Design in conjunction with the appearance will get an exclusive print to make up for Mustaine's absence.

This was to be Mustaine's first public appearance since he announced his throat cancer diagnosis on June 17th.

We wish Dave all the best and a speedy recovery.
