Metallica's James Hetfield heard the story of how a woman in Vancouver scared off a cougar by blasting the band's "Don't Tread on Me" on her cell phone.
He was so pleased that he called Dee Gallant. She says, "It's surreal how quickly it happened and how far it's gone. The fact that he's so down to earth and such a great person, I'm very pleased to find that out first-hand... If you had told the 18-year-old me that this would happen, I never would've believed it. I would've just fallen out of my skin with excitement."
She says they spoke about their houses, pets and, of course, the cougar. And afterward, to prove that it was indeed him who'd called her, he sent her a selfie.
