Tommy Lee One Year Sober

Tommy Lee says he feels so lucky he "must have a horseshoe stuck in his butt."

He's referring specifically to the results of a recent check-up, after which his astonished doctor told the 58-year-old that his "liver is fine" and he's "super healthy." It's more than a little surprising considering that less than a year ago, Lee says, he was chugging two gallons of vodka a day.

Lee credits his new wife, Brittany Furlan, who he married on Valentine's Day 2019, with sounding the alarm by expressing her concern about his health and safety that led him -- not for the first time -- to enter rehab.

He tells Yahoo! Entertainment that up until that point he'd been off the road and "just enjoyed being home" so he "literally did nothing." He spent days floating around his pool and drinking until he built up a tolerance that enabled him to drink prodigiously — "not pints, not quarts, but gallons, the big-handles, a day" -- and not even be fazed by it.

It was then that he realized that he was drinking to the point where he "could probably die." He'll celebrate a year of sobriety right around the time he releases his new solo album, Andro, on October 16th.
