Eric Singer Of Kiss Is Now A Texas Cop, Kind Of

KISS drummer Eric Singer has been made an Honorary Corporal with the Wharton Police Department in Wharton, Texas, an hour outside Houston.

Chief Terry David Lynch swore in Singer before the KISS show Monday in Houston. In accepting the lifetime position, Singer was presented with a formal letter from the chief and a custom shadow box bearing the department’s insignia for presentation purposes.

In part the letter read, "The Corporal badge presented to you today has been selflessly worn by many within our department and today, it begins a new chapter with you. We ask that you display it proudly as it represents our commitment to protect those who call on us in times of danger, and in remembrance of the nearly 24,000 officers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice since 1791.

Former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley has also been honored, but with a magazine instead of a badge. Fantasm Media has published The Official Ace Frehley Magazine.

It features a career-spanning retrospective conversation with Ace, as well as interviews with his current band, and his former KISS bandmate, drummer Peter Criss.
