This is kind of gross, but very metal at the same time! Biologist Christina Rheims has the job of naming new species of spiders at Instituto Butantan in Sao Paulo. She loves heavy metal (yay!) and named four newly found species after some band members.
The spider species, according to PRI (Public Radio International), are named after Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson (Extraordinarius bruceickinsoni), Scorpions singer Klaus Meine (Extraordinarius klausmeinei), Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen (Extraordinarius rickalleni) and late vocalist André Matos of the band Angra (Extraordinarius andrematosi). Woah!
